PRAGUE, Czech Republic — It was a successful home debut for Cheap Philadelphia Flyers Jerseys
coach Alain Vigneault — a long, long way from Philadelphia.

Travis Konecny had two goals and Vigneault won his first game with his new team, directing the Flyers to a season-opening 4-3 victory over the Cheap Chicago Blackhawks Jerseys
on Friday night.

Oskar Lindblom and Michael Raffl also scored for the Flyers in front of a sellout crowd of 17,463 at Prague’s O2 Arena as part of the NHL’s Global Series. Carter Hart stopped 28 shots.

It was the first regular-season game outside of North America in Philadelphia’s 52-year history.

“I think tonight’s game, everybody was down there, everybody was consistent in what we were doing and it was a team win,” Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux said. “It was a lot of fun.”

Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists for Chicago, which opened the 2009-10 season in Finland. Alex Nylander and Alex DeBrincat also scored.

“I like the way we fought back,” said Kane, who had a career-high 110 points last season. “Whatever the numbers were tonight, I still think I have more to give to the team.”

The Blackhawks are hoping to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence, but defencemen Dennis Gilbert and Slater Koekkoek each made a costly mistake after the blue liners struggled last year.

Konecny turned Gilbert’s turnover into a 1-0 lead for Philadelphia 6:24 into the first, beating Corey Crawford on the glove side.

Lindblom was credited with a power-play goal 6:28 into the second when his shot bounced off the crossbar and was deflected by Koekkoek into his own net. Konecny then converted a backhander with 1:56 left in the period, giving the Flyers a 3-1 lead.

Chicago played without defencemen Calvin de Haan and Connor Murphy due to injuries.

“We turned way too many pucks over, that’s where we exposed ourselves defensively,” coach Jeremy Colliton said.
The Chicago Blackhawks signed forward Alex DeBrincat to a three-year, $19.2 million contract extension on Thursday.

DeBrincat’s new deal will carry an average annual value of $6.4 million and run through the 2022-23 season. He was previously scheduled to become a restricted free agent in July.

The 21-year-old posted a career-high 41 goals and 76 points in 82 games last season. He recorded 28 goals and 52 points in 82 games as a rookie in 2017-18.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, DeBrincat will earn $5.1 million in both of the first two years of the contract and earn $9 million in 2022-23.

DeBrincat was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Among players drafted in 2016, only Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine and Matthew Tkachuk – all of whom debuted during the 2016-17 season – have more points than DeBrincat.

Starting next season, DeBrincat will be the third-highest paid forward on the Blackhawks, between Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews ($10.5 million).

The Blackhawks will begin their 2019-20 season on Friday in Prague, Czech Republic against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Vigneault became the 21st coach in Flyers history in April after they missed the playoffs for the fourth time in seven seasons. He also has coached Montreal, Vancouver and the New York Rangers.

He was behind the bench as Philadelphia held off Chicago in the 26th NHL regular-season game played in Europe, and the fifth in Prague.

The Cheap Chicago Blackhawks Jerseys
pulled within one when DeBrincat one-timed a pass from Kane past Hart with 13 seconds left in the second. It was DeBrincat’s first goal since he signed a three-year contract extension worth $19.2 million.

Raffl responded for Philadelphia in the third, skating around the net and sliding a backhand between Crawford’s pads for a 4-2 lead at 9:48.

Kane scored with 2:07 remaining, but the Cheap Philadelphia Flyers Jerseys
held on.

Crawford finished with 34 saves. Nylander scored in the first period in his first game since he was acquired in an off-season trade with Buffalo.

The NHL returned to Europe for the third straight year as part of its efforts to grow the fan base in hockey-mad countries like the Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland and others.

It will be back in Europe next month when the Tampa Bay Lightning face the Sabres in the Swedish capital of Stockholm.

NOTES: NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said the league is planning to play more regular-season games in Europe next year, but the details are still being finalized.

OTTAWA — The Cheap Ottawa Senators Jerseys
called their 4-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night a good lesson.

The Senators were outplayed from start to finish in nearly every area of the game, but if it had to happen the pre-season is as good a time as any.

“They had a bunch of hungry guys trying to make the NHL and we didn’t work as hard as in camp and some previous games so that was disappointing,” said Senators head coach D.J. Smith. “Third period we worked and that’s all I’ve asked is if you’ve worked every single day and that was the first time we didn’t and it was obvious.”

The Cheap Montreal Canadiens Jerseys improved to a perfect 4-0-0 in this year’s pre-season with the win.

Keith Kinkaid stopped all 27 shots he faced and looked solid when challenged. Jeff Petry, Jake Evans, Thomas Tatar and Phillip Danault also scored for Montreal.

“He didn’t have many pucks, but we always say that about a goaltender,” said Canadiens coach Claude Julien. “When you don’t get a ton of shots you need to keep your focus. What I liked about him is he made some big saves at times. They were really crashing the net…but he held his ground and I thought he made some big saves and he was pretty solid so I’m pretty happy with what I saw of him (Saturday).”

Like most coaches, Julien doesn’t put a ton of stock in pre-season records, but at the same time says it is important.

“It gives you confidence if you win (in the pre-season),” said Julien. “We’ve won with split squads so that’s been good as well. It’s never a bad thing to win.”

Craig Anderson stopped 27-of-29 shots through two periods of play and was the only reason the game was close as the Senators (2-1-0) were being heavily outplayed. Joey Daccord gave up two goals on five shots in the third period.

The Senators made no excuses and know they need to be better as the regular season approaches.

“We’re playing at home and we’re trying to be too nice with everybody on the team,” said Ottawa’s Thomas Chabot, who played his first pre-season game. “This is a good reminder that we still have a lot of work ahead of us before the season starts.”

Special teams were a big factor as the Canadiens went 3 for 3 on the power play, while the Senators were 0 for 5 with the man advantage.

Part of Cheap Ottawa Senators Jerseys
‘s problem was its inability to win draws when it counted.

“If you start with the puck it’s significantly different,” said Smith. “We were better later in the game, but we’re just getting the kinks out, Chabot’s first game and people just learning each other so I’m not going to worry about that.”

Leading 2-0, the Canadiens extended their lead early in the third period, scoring twice in a span of 39 seconds.

Tatar made it 3-0 by beating Daccord glove side and seconds later Danault fired a shot from just inside the blue-line to make it 4-0.

Montreal opened the scoring on the power play at the six-minute mark of the second.

Nikita Zaitsev had blocked a shot, but the puck went right to Petry who beat Anderson short side.

Minutes later, Anderson made an impressive save on Nick Suzuki as the Canadiens were all over the Senators.

Montreal made it 2-0 late in the period as Anderson put the puck behind the net, but it was Montreal’s Riley Barber who won the footrace and passed it out front to Evans.

The Senators were outshot 18-6 in the second period and five of those shots came in the final two minutes of the period.

Both teams had some chances in the first period, but the game remained scoreless after 20 minutes.

The Senators are expected to make some cuts to their roster on Sunday as they prepare for two games in Vancouver this week.

BOSTON — The San Francisco Giants helped manager Bruce Bochy reach yet another milestone before his retirement at the end of the season.

San Francisco’s 11-3 rout of the Red Sox on Wednesday night was Bochy’s 2,000th career victory as a manager in the majors.

“I’ve been lucky. I’ve been blessed to have been doing this this long. That’s what it means.” Bochy said.

Fans who stuck around Fenway Park were chanting Bochy’s name at the end and Boston manager Alex Cora saluted from the opposite dugout, knowing the significance of what Bochy has achieved in 25 years of managing.

“That number just represents so many people, more than anybody are those players. Hopefully when they hear that number, they realize what a big part they had to do with it. It doesn’t happen without them.”

The Giants broke out champagne in the clubhouse for a postgame celebration, which included a few understated remarks from their beloved skipper.

“It was actually pretty relaxed and very Boch-esque. Just gave a little speech and said what he always says — how much he appreciates the guys. And we know that, so that’s why we play so hard for him,” said Jeff Samardija, who took a no-hitter into the sixth on Bochy’s big night. “You don’t want to let him down. When you have that respect for a manager, the team shows up every night and is always competing.”

Bochy won 951 games while managing the San Diego Padres over 12 seasons and is 1,049-1,047 in 13 years with San Francisco, which won three World Series titles with Bochy at the helm.

Cora opened his postgame remarks by congratulating Bochy.

“At this level that’s kind of like unreal. I think everybody that gets to do this job wish they could last that long and be able to do what he has done throughout his career,” Cora, who is wrapping up just his second season as a manager in the majors. “The way he’s gone about the business. I mean, he’s been amazing, so congratulations.”

The Cheap New York Giants Jerseys
helped Bochy reach 2,000 with just 10 games remaining in the season. The 10 other managers to win 2,000 are all Hall of Famers and Bochy is sure to follow.

“He’s just a players’ coach, which I think is the ultimate compliment,” Samardzija said. “He understands the sacrifices we make. He understands the grind we go through. He hasn’t forgotten that.”

Samardzija didn’t allow a hit until the sixth inning and the Giants gave him plenty of offence, tagging eight Boston pitchers for 15 hits while winning for the second straight night at Fenway Park. San Francisco blew the game open with two runs in the eighth and five more in the ninth and will try and complete a three-game sweep of the interleague series Thursday afternoon.

Rafael Devers hit his 30th home run and Jackie Bradley Jr. homered for the second straight night for the Red Sox.

BOSTON — A year after their record-setting, World Series championship season, the Cheap Boston Red Sox Jerseys
are looking for meaning wherever they can find it.

Long ago finished in the AL East race and on the verge of wild-card elimination as well, the defending champs managed to keep alive Eduardo Rodriguez’s chances of a 20-win season, barely saving his 18th victory while beating the San Francisco Cheap New York Giants Jerseys
5-4 on Thursday.

“There was a lot of talk about that,” said manager Alex Cora, who led the team to 108 wins and the title in his first season on the bench. “We set the rotation for him to get as many wins as possible. If we didn’t win this one, we probably make an adjustment but he’s still got a shot.”

After entering the season as the No. 5 starter behind ace Chris Sale, Cy Young winners David Price and Rick Porcello and World Series hero Nathan Eovaldi, Rodriguez (18-6) has established himself as Boston’s best pitcher in an otherwise forgettable season.

He struck out 10 over six innings of two-hit ball, walking two and allowing one unearned run to reach 191 1/3 innings pitched and 199 strikeouts for the season — both career highs, by far. He is scheduled to start again on Tuesday against Texas and then again against the Orioles on the final day of the season.

“He’s been a model of consistency,” said Brandon Workman, who pitched into and out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth for his 15th save. “He’s close to 20 wins and he’s close to 200 innings pitched. That’s two good benchmarks for him to reach.”

Xander Bogaerts had a pair of RBI singles to drive in three runs, and Rafael Devers had two RBIs for Boston, which would be eliminated from the wild-card race with one more loss or Tampa Bay win.

Mike Yastrzemski, the grandson of Cheap Boston Red Sox Jerseys
Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, was supposed to get the day off “to take it all in,” but manager Bruce Bochy sent him up as a pinch-hitter in the eighth. He singled and scored as the Giants cut a four-run deficit to 5-3.

He came up again in the ninth after Workman loaded the bases with nobody out, then struck out Brandon Crawford.

“I was hoping,” Bochy said. “That would have been pretty nice if Yaz hit a gapper or something to win the game for us.”

Yastrzemski struck out and then, after Kevin Pillar walked to make it a one-run game, Workman fanned Evan Longoria.

“It was really fun to have the best seat in the house for the game,” Yastrzemski said. “As great of an environment as it was, there was some stress and some stuff that I wasn’t used to. I learned how to deal with it. … So that just kind of gives me a little more confidence.”

Madison Bumgarner (9-9) lost in his first career start at Fenway Park, giving up five runs on nine hits and two walks in five innings while striking out seven. He allowed the first four Boston batters to reach safely and fell behind 2-1 after one inning, and 5-1 after two.

That was the last of the scoring until Pillar hit a two-run double off Marcus Walden in the eighth to make it 5-3. Matt Barnes came in and walked Longoria, then gave up Buster Posey’s high chopper that handcuffed Devers at third to load the bases.

But Barnes struck out Stephen Vogt to end the inning.

The younger Yastrzemski said the mementoes he will value most from the week are a pair of poster-sized photos of him and his grandfather walking in front of the Green Monster on Tuesday, and catching the ceremonial first pitch from the former Cheap Boston Red Sox Jerseys
captain on Wednesday night.

“I think those will be something that I cherish forever,” said Mike Yastrzemski, who homered in Tuesday night’s game. “Just one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments.”

Rodriguez is 9-0 in interleague starts in the past three seasons, including Game 4 of the 2018 World Series, and the Red Sox have a 15-0 record in those games.

Rodriguez has gone four straight starts with at least six innings and no more than one run. He has made it at least five innings in 26 straight starts since the beginning of May. Boston is 24-8 in his starts this year, tying Gerrit Cole for the most wins behind any starting pitcher in the majors.

The game was played with three umpires because Sean Barber, who was scheduled to work the plate, was a late scratch. No reason was given. … Bumgarner reached the 200-inning mark for the seventh time in his career.

Red Sox: Reigning AL MVP Mookie Betts has been out a week for toe inflammation but could play at Tampa Bay this weekend, manager Alex Cora said. If he does, it would be at DH. … J.D. Martinez missed his second straight game after leaving Tuesday night with groin soreness. He could also return for the Rays series…. LHP David Price will see a hand specialist.

Cheap New York Giants Jerseys
: Start a three-game series at Atlanta on Friday night. RHP Tyler Beede (5-9) will start the opener against Atlanta’s Mike Foltynewicz (7-5).

Red Sox: Open a four-game series at Tampa Bay on Friday night. Rick Porcello (13-12) will face Charlie Morton (15-6).

Stephen Vogt hit a two-run homer in the first and finished with four RBIs for the Giants. Samardzija (11-12) pitched six innings, holding Boston to one run on two hits and four walks. He struck out two.

The Giants capitalized quickly on control issues by Boston starter Jhoulys Chacín, who was tagged for three runs in the first inning and didn’t make it through the third despite striking out six.

Chacín (3-11) was in trouble from the start with a walk to leadoff batter Mike Yastrzremski, followed by a Brandon Belt’s double to left-centre. Kevin Pillar drove in Yastzremski on a fielder’s choice and Vogt lined a two-out homer off the Pesky Pole to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.

Brandon Crawford’s RBI double in the third put San Francisco up 4-0, which was plenty of cushion for Samardzija, who didn’t allow a hit until Devers’ homer with two outs in the sixth.

Enderson Franco made his major-league debut when he started the ninth for San Francisco. He allowed Bradley’s homer, which bounced off the top of the Green Monster and was initially ruled a triple before being overturned after a video review.

Yastrzemski hit an RBI single in the ninth, one night after homering in his first game at Fenway, where his Hall of Fame grandfather, Carl, played 23 seasons with the Red Sox. Carl Yastrzemski, Boston’s beloved “Yaz,” threw out the ceremonial first pitch Wednesday night.

Giants: C Buster Posey (back, hip) could return to the lineup Thursday, Bochy said.

Red Sox: Cora said LHP David Price (cyst left wrist), who hasn’t pitched since Sept. 1, will have surgery on his left wrist and is done for the season. “We’re going to shut him down,” Cora said. “It’s a head start to next year and a smart thing to do.”. OF Mookie Betts missed his fourth straight game with inflammation in his left foot. Cora said Betts could return as DH this weekend when the Red Sox visit Tampa Bay. . IF Sam Travis was under the concussion protocol after getting hit in the head by a throw while sliding into third Tuesday night.

Cheap NFL Jerseys For Sale 2020

It’s Week 3 of fantasy football. Is your quarterback healthy?

The landscape at the position drastically changed with the loss of fantasy stalwarts Drew Brees (thumb, out at least six weeks) and Ben Roethlisberger (elbow, out for remainder of the season).

Both the Saints’ and Steelers’ high-scoring attacks are slowed down, leaving fantasy owners who were reliant on those offences to seek production elsewhere.

START: Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys: The Cheap Miami Dolphins Jerseys
were the league’s worst fantasy defence against opposing quarterbacks with the now-traded Minkah Fitzpatrick. Even without WR Michael Gallup, Prescott — who put his running skills on display in Week 2 — continues his impressive start to the regular season.

SIT: Cam Newton, QB, Panthers: He was in a walking boot on Wednesday, lending belief he may not be available against the Cardinals. Even if he was, Newton has yet to generate a touchdown and his minus-2 rushing yards is a sign that something’s wrong. If Newton’s not mobile, the Panthers offence becomes running back Christian McCaffrey facing eight-man fronts.

START: Austin Ekeler, RB, Chargers: Houston is 25th in receiving yards allowed to opposing running backs, a stat that sounds nice to fantasy owners of Ekeler, who averages 13.5 yards per reception and has two receiving scores. A third straight game of at least 130 yards from scrimmage is a strong possibility.

SIT: Carlos Hyde, RB, Texans: With Duke Johnson already making him a non-factor in the passing game, Hyde will have to find holes against a Chargers defence that bounced back from being dominated by Colts RB Marlon Mack in Week 1 by limiting the Lions to just 94 yards on 28 carries last week.

START: Kenny Golladay, WR, Lions: Only the Redskins have a worse fantasy defence against opposing receivers than the Eagles, who have given up five touchdown passes and eight completions of at least 20 yards. Golladay has scored in each of his first two games and should exceed his 9.5 targets per game average. Don’t be shocked if Golladay is among the top 10 scorers at his position this week.

SIT: Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos: Emmanuel Sanders is clicking with Joe Flacco, having been targeted 20 times along with scoring in each of the first two games. Sutton will get a downfield shot or two, but the Denver passing game will find it hard to get on track against a surprisingly good Packers defence that is fourth in fewest fantasy points allowed to opposing wideouts.

START: Vance McDonald, TE, Steelers: New Steelers starting QB Mason Rudolph found McDonald for a pair of scoring receptions in last week’s loss to the Seahawks and will be in the neighbourhood of 8 to 10 targets as Rudolph looks to him as a security blanket while getting comfortable in the starting role.

SIT: Trey Burton, TE, Bears: Prior to Chicago’s game-winning drive in Week 2, Burton had one target. He finished with just two catches for 5 yards on three targets. He’s still not at 100 per cent, so Burton will be little more than a role player and occasional decoy against the Redskins on Monday night.

START: Nelson Agholor, WR, Eagles: Philly may be without starting wideouts Alshon Jeffrey (calf) and DeSean Jackson (groin), thrusting Agholor into the spotlight against a Lions pass defence that has seen 66 passes targeted at receivers the first two weeks. Agholor went 8 for 11 in targets at the Falcons in Week 2 and will be a high-volume receiver.

In just 25 days, one fifth of the starting quarterbacks in the National Football League have been either injured or replaced or have retired.

That’s an absolutely staggering number.

The six teams that made a change (by choice or otherwise) will pick up the pieces and push forward as best they can over the next 15 weeks.

For the rest of the league, the last 25 days can serve as a cautionary tale.

The quarterback carousel began on Aug. 24, with the shocking revelation that the 2018 NFL Comeback Player of the Year decided he would not come back.

Andrew Luck, who just last week turned 30, stood on the Cheap Indianapolis Colts Jerseys
sideline during a preseason game at Lucas Oil Stadium as news of his retirement spread across social media.

With just two weeks to go before the start of the regular season, the Colts lost their franchise quarterback.

To outsiders, it seemed almost incomprehensible.

After throwing for 4,593 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2018, how could he possibly walk away now?

But for as dominant as he was when he was healthy, injuries had taken their toll over the years.

Luck missed 26 games due to various injuries in his career, which included broken ribs, a lacerated kidney, at least one concussion and a shoulder injury that sidelined him for a full year in 2017.

After spending the off-season rehabbing both physically and mentally, Luck finally confronted one of the most difficult decisions he has ever had to make.

He didn’t want to walk away when he did.

But he knew that if he didn’t, he might never get another opportunity to decide for himself.

So Luck retired.

Just like that, Indianapolis was forced to turn to Jacoby Brissett as its starter.

Two weeks later on Sept. 8, the rival Jacksonville Jaguars lost Nick Foles, their starting quarterback, to a broken clavicle.

Foles didn’t make it through a full quarter of regular season football in Jacksonville before he was sidelined indefinitely.

Only months after they signed Foles to a four-year, $88 million contract, the Jaguars were forced to turn to rookie sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew II as their starter.

Stephen A. isn’t giving up on Cam yet
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith isn’t convinced that the Panthers need to start looking for a successor to Cam Newton.

A few days later on Sept. 12, something the football world had suspected for some time was confirmed: Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton isn’t 100 per cent.

Trailing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by six points at home with 1:28 left in the fourth quarter, the Panthers faced a crucial fourth-and-one situation at their opponent’s two-yard line.

Instead of running a QB sneak with Newton, an obvious play call in years past, Carolina lined up in the Wildcat formation with Newton as a decoy and handed the ball off to running back Christian McCaffrey.

McCaffrey tried to bounce it outside but was cut off by cornerback Vernon Hargreaves and pushed out of bounds short of the sticks.

Newton ended the game with two carries for zero yards.

He was also 25-of-51 for 333 passing yards.

When it was over, Newton shouldered the blame for the 20-14 loss. He also took accountability for the Panthers 0-2 start.

“Offensively, we didn’t hold up our end of the bargain. All fingers are just pointing back to me specifically on offence,” Newton told reporters after the game.

Taking a closer look at his performance, there are a number of indicators Newton isn’t fully healthy.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Newton led the NFL in off-target throws with 15 in Week 2 alone.

That is the most off-target throws by any quarterback in a single game since Week 7 of last season.

Even worse, Newton didn’t complete a single pass under pressure.

Newton went 0-for-10 and was sacked three times when under duress in passing situations.

Admittedly, there aren’t many people outside of the Panthers locker room that know the full extent of the injuries the 2015 NFL MVP is dealing with right now.

What we do know is that Newton had surgery on his throwing shoulder for the second time in three years this past off-season.

We know that he didn’t throw for most of the off-season for the second time in three years.

We also know that those surgeries haven’t resulted in an improvement in Newton’s downfield passing ability over the past couple of seasons.

The numbers reflect that.

In losses to the Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams, Newton went 4-of-15 with zero touchdowns on pass attempts that travelled 15 yards or more down the field.

Finally, we know that a mobile quarterback that earned the nickname “Superman” in part because he has never finished with fewer than 585 rushing yards in a 16-game season has minus-two rushing yards through two losses.

Newton’s status for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals is uncertain after he missed practice on Wednesday because he aggravated a foot injury suffered in the pre-season.

So where do the Panthers go from here?

It might not be long before we know the answer to that question as well.

Three days later on Sept.15, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered significant injuries.

Roethlisberger will miss the remainder of the season because of a right elbow injury that requires surgery.

Two years ago, the Steelers had the league leaders in passing yards per game, scrimmage yards per game and touchdowns catches on their roster.

Now, Roethlisberger is out, Le’Veon Bell is on the New York Jets and Antonio Brown plays for the rival New England Patriots.

At 0-2 and facing a difficult schedule the rest of the way, Pittsburgh turns to Mason Rudolph with the hope that the 2018 third-round pick can show them enough to believe he could be a franchise quarterback.

We know that Roethlisberger will miss the rest of the season.

We don’t know when, or if, he ever suits up for the Steelers again.

Meanwhile, Brees will miss at least the next six weeks with a thumb injury.

Brees has missed a grand total of three games since moving to New Orleans in 2006 and the Saints have lost all of them.

It will be up to Teddy Bridgewater to snap the skid now that he takes over as the starter.

It won’t be an easy assignment by any means.

The Saints travel to the West Coast to visit the 2-0 Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. After that, they will host the Dallas Cowboys, who should be 3-0 after they host the Miami Cheap Miami Dolphins Jerseys
on Sunday afternoon.

It wouldn’t shock anybody if New Orleans is 2-2 at the quarter mark of its schedule.

It also wouldn’t be a surprise if the Saints started 1-3.

Either way, Bridgewater could be the first quarterback since 2005 to start more than one game in a season for New Orleans.

That is, if he can stay healthy.

Jones: Eli has been nothing but supportive
Daniel Jones praises Eli Manning for supporting him after he took over the starting quarterback position.

Finally, on Tuesday, the New York Giants announced that Eli Manning has been benched in favour of rookie first-round pick Daniel Jones.

Jones becomes the sixth quarterback to take over a starting job and it’s only Week 3.

Considering the passer situations around the league, including New York in particular, it wouldn’t be a surprise if teams called the Giants to inquire about Manning’s availability.

The number of NFL starting quarterback changes over the last 25 days alone is alarming.

With 15 weeks to go, we are all but guaranteed to see more switches.

Jones, Bridgewater, Rudolph, Falk, Minshew and Brissett are all expected to start in Week 3.

Undrafted free agent Kyle Allen could also get the nod for Carolina if Newton isn’t ready to go.

As for the other 26 starting quarterbacks around the league, one goal heading into Week 3 is simple: Make sure that list doesn’t get any longer.

SIT: Kirk Cousins, QB, Vikings: That’s not a typo: Cousins’ 8.2 QBR is real. He struggled in last week’s loss to the Packers, and his 52.4% completion rate is near the bottom of the league. At some point, Minnesota’s going to need him to offer the offence more than giving 20-plus touches to RB Dalvin Cook.

START: Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: He’s thrown for at least two touchdown passes in each of the past six games against the Jets and eight of his past 10. WRs Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon are a big reason why he’s averaging 13.8 yards per completion, his best total since 2011.

SIT: Josh Gordon, WR, Patriots: Gordon has just nine targets in two games. The Patriots will continue to spread the ball around, leaving Gordon only a handful of opportunities each game. If the Pats seek to find balance and emphasize the running game against the Jets, then Gordon’s potential for production will be further limited.

START: Devonta Freeman, RB, Falcons: Off to a slow start, Freeman has averaged just 2.2 yards per carry. Along come the Colts, who are 30th in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing running backs. This could lead a big game from Freeman, especially for those using him in PPR formats.

SIT: Tarik Cohen, RB, Bears: Rookie David Montgomery is already limiting Cohen’s touches. He’ll remain the back of choice in Chicago’s passing game, but the sluggish start from QB Mitchell Trubisky makes Cohen a very difficult add to any fantasy offence at this point.

START: Marquise Brown, WR, Ravens: That he was targeted 13 times in last week’s win over the Cardinals was a sign QB Lamar Jackson doesn’t see him strictly as a deep threat. The Chiefs are 24th in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing receivers and didn’t get tested much by the Raiders in Week 2. That will change, as Brown and Jackson will face off against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s potent passing attack.

SIT: Mason Rudolph, QB, Steelers: There were signs that Rudolph could be fantasy-viable after replacing Roethlisberger. Don’t get fooled into buying a breakout effort by the second-year passer on the road against a 49ers defence that has four interceptions this season.

PHOENIX — A bullpen blowup put the Cheap Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys
in a tough spot Tuesday night.

A next-day bounce back keeps their slim NL wild-card hopes alive.

Mike Leake worked effectively through traffic into the seventh inning, Domingo Leyba had two RBIs and the Diamondbacks rebounded from an ugly loss to beat the Wholesale Miami Marlins Jerseys
5-4 on Wednesday.

“After a really tough night last night where you’re kind of ground down, the guys came out today, quick turnaround, and executed the game plan and won a baseball game,” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said.

Arizona had dropped to 5 1/2 games back in the NL wild-card race after a bullpen blowup led to a 12-6 loss to Miami Tuesday night.

The Wholesale Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys
responded by jumping on Sandy Alcantara (5-14) early to keep their slim playoff chances alive with nine games to go.

Abraham Almonte hit his first career leadoff home run and Christian Walker added a solo shot for Arizona.

Leake (12-11) gave up solo homers to Austin Dean and Starlin Castro, but limited the rest of the damage in 6 2/3 innings. Archie Bradley retired the final four batters for his 15th save.

“Pretty good game in general. Back and forth,” Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. “We didn’t get enough big hits to get over the hump today.”

The Marlins (53-99) are one defeat from the third 100-loss season in team history, the first since 2012.

Leake allowed four earned runs in 26 innings over previous four starts, but the Cheap Miami Marlins Jerseys
hit him hard early.

Marlin hit his 20th homer in the second inning and Harold Ramirez followed with a run-scoring single. Dean hit a solo homer in the fourth.

Leake gave up three runs on eight hits and struck out four.

“The home runs are kind of chance pitches that are not quite getting where they’re supposed to,” Leake said.

Alcantara allowed one run over seven innings his last start, against San Francisco. He wasn’t nearly as effective against the Diamondbacks, who scored four runs off the right-hander in the first three innings.

Alcantara left a 1-2 pitch up and over the plate in the first inning to Almonte, who sent it into the pool deck in right-centre.

Leyba hit run-scoring triple and scored on Jerrod Dyson’s single in the second inning, then drove in another run in the fourth on a groundout. Walker’s 26th homer put Arizona up 5-3 in the sixth.

Alcantara allowed five runs — four earned — on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

“I want to go as deep as I can. Sometimes that doesn’t happen,” Alacantara said. “Don’t want to have a bad day, but today was not a bad day. I want to finish strong. I have two starts left. Working hard to get better every time.”

Arizona catcher Alex Avila was called for catcher’s interference on a swing by Ramirez in the eighth inning, prompting a visit to the umpire by Lovullo.

The reason? Avila thought the ball was already in his glove when Ramirez made contact. Under baseball rules, catcher’s interference can’t be called if the catcher already has the ball in his glove.

Lovullo talked over the bang-bang play with plate umpire Brian Knight and the umpires gathered, but ultimately decided Ramirez struck Avila’s glove just before he caught it.

“I just wanted them to get together because Al felt strongly it was in his glove,” Lovullo said. “The umpires thought it was approaching. I haven’t seen the play, but was told the umpires got it right.”

Marlins: C Jorge Alfaro was back in the lineup after being hit on his non-throwing hand by a bat and leaving Tuesday’s game in the second inning.

Diamondbacks: CF Ketel Marte was out of the lineup and had a precautionary MRI after leaving Tuesday’s game in the fifth inning with back stiffness. He is expected to get a CT scan next and his status for the upcoming series at San Diego is still up in the air. … SS Nick Ahmed was out for the second straight due to an injured finger on his throwing hand suffered in Monday’s game.

MINNEAPOLIS — As the Cheap Minnesota Twins Jerseys move closer to a post-season berth, José Berríos’ confidence grows.

Berríos pitched into the eighth inning to win his second straight start, Mitch Garver hit a go-ahead double and the Twins rallied to beat the Chicago White Sox 5-3 Monday night.

“Confidence is real, and every single guy here needs it to succeed to be their best self and their best version of them on the field,” Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said. “José certainly had it.”

Seeking their first AL Central title since 2010, the Twins opened a five-game lead over second-place Cleveland. At 92-58 with 12 games left, Minnesota is assured of its best record since finishing 94-68 in 2010.

Given an extra day of rest between starts, Berríos (13-8) allowed two runs and five hits in 7 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts and two walks. He was rewarded with a standing ovation when he was removed.

“Every outing I’m feeling better and better,” Berríos said through a translator. “My arm was feeling great today.”

Berríos’ 188 1/3 innings are four shy of his career high, set last year. The two-time All-Star has changed his postgame routine in order to stay fresher between starts.

He pitched into the eighth inning for just the fifth time this season.

Tyler Duffey finished the eighth, and Sergio Romo allowed Eloy Jiménez’s homer leading off the ninth before getting an out. Taylor Rogers needed just eight pitches to finish a six-hitter for his 27th save in 33 chances.

Following a weekend series against the Indians, Minnesota started a final stretch against teams with losing records: the White Sox, Kansas City and worst-in-the-majors Detroit.

White Sox starter Reynaldo López gave up five runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

“I was feeling good today,” López said through a translator. “I missed quite a bit with first-pitch strikes, and that got me into some trouble.”

José Abreu’s sacrifice fly in the first and James McCann’s homer in the second gave Chicago a 2-0 lead, but the Twins tied the score in the bottom half on Jorge Polanco’s sacrifice fly and Nelson Cruz’s RBI single.

After Garver put the Twins ahead for good, Luis Arraez hit a cue shot off the end of his bat that curved past third baseman Yoán Moncada for a two-run single in the sixth. Moncada appeared to be in position to make a play before the ball spun to his left and into the outfield.

“When he hit that ball, I don’t think anybody realized it was going to do that, us included,” Baldelli said. “It was just a very unusual ball off the bat.”

Twins: 1B Marwin Gonzalez went 1 for 4 in his return from an abdominal injury that had sidelined him since Aug. 27. … INF Ehire Adrianza, who strained his right oblique on Thursday, hopes to start taking swings this weekend and remains optimistic he may play again during the regular season is over. … RF Max Kepler was out of the lineup for the second straight game with left shoulder soreness. … 1B C.J. Cron might need some time off to rest his injured right thumb, according to Baldelli.

White Sox RHP Lucas Giolito was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday because of a mild lat strain and will miss the rest of the season. LHP Ross Detwiler (2-5) will start against LHP Martin Pérez (10-7). A first-time All-Star, Giolito finished 14-9 with a 3.41 ERA. “He created a great foundation for himself going forward to be a very important part of a good team going forward,” Chicago general manager Rick Hahn said.

Wholesale San Diego Padres Jerseys

MILWAUKEE — Corey Spangenberg helped the Milwaukee Brewers keep pace in their playoff push and ensured another losing season for his old team

Spangenberg drove in three runs, including a tiebreaking, two-run triple in the fourth inning, and the Brewers beat the San Diego Padres 5-1 Monday night.

Milwaukee won for the 10th time in 11 games, remaining one game behind the Chicago Cubs for the NL’s second wild card and three games back of St. Louis, the NL Central leader.

Spangenberg, selected 10th overall by San Diego in the 2011 amateur draft, was released by the Padres after the 2018 season. He signed with Milwaukee in Janaury, spent most of the season in the minor leagues and made his first appearance for the Brewers on Aug. 24.

“Playing in the playoffs is all the motivation I need,” Spangenberg said. “This is the first time that I’ve ever had a chance, so I want to do everything I can to get there and be able to experience that.”

Spangenberg, now 28, got his chance after rookie second baseman Keston Hiura strained his left hamstring

“It’s a player who got an opportunity because of injuries, and he has taken advantage of it,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. “Now it’s hard to take him out of the lineup.”

San Diego got just two hits and dropped to 68-82, tying the franchise record with its ninth consecutive losing season. The Padres also finished under .500 from 1969-77, the first nine years of the expansion franchise.

Padres starter Garret Richards (0-1) allowed three runs and five hits over 3 2/3 innings in his first major league appearance since Tommy John surgery in July 2018. The 31-year-old right-hander struck out five and walked none, throwing 42 of 61 pitches for strikes.

“A huge step back into making him a big part of what we do in the future here,” Padres manager Andy Green said. “I think we’re encouraged by what we saw today.”

Spangenberg had an RBI single in the second and followed Eric Hosmer’s tying double in the fourth with a triple in the bottom half for a 3-1 lead.

Travis Shaw stopped an 0-for-20 slide with a pinch-hit home run leading off the fifth against Ronald Bolaños, and Orlando Arcia doubled in a run in the sixth.

Zach Davies (10-7) allowed two hits in five innings, Freddy Peralta struck out four over two innings, Alex Claudio pitched a perfect eighth and Jay Jackson struck out the side in the ninth.

“Zach set the tone,” Counsell said.

Josh Naylor’s second-inning single was San Diego’s only other hit.

“Davies was executing well, not missing much over the plate, really mixing it up good,” Hosmer said. “The guys out of the bullpen did a great job tonight. They were real effective getting strikes early.”

Manny Machado of the Padres was booed loudly before every plate appearance and was cheered when he struck out in the sixth and ninth innings. While playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Brewers during last year’s NL Championship Series, Machado stepped on first baseman Jesús Aguilar’s foot, prompting the benches to empty.

“Brewers fans have a good memory,” Counsell said.

San Diego recalled C Luis Torrens from Double-A Amarillo and transferred LHP Adrian Morejon (left shoulder impingement) to the 60-day injured list.

Padres: OF Hunter Renfroe took batting practice, ran the bases and chased fly balls. Out with a sprained his right ankle since Sept. 7th, he is expected to be in Tuesday’s starting lineup.

Brewers: C Manny Piña (concussion) worked out before the game and then the team doctors checked him out.

Padres: RHP Chris Paddack makes his 26th start of the season. He is 2-0 with a 0.49 ERA and 23 strikeouts in his three previous starts.

Brewers: RHP Brandon Woodruff (left oblique strain) is scheduled to come off the injured list and take the mound. He is 11-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 20 starts, but will give way to LHP Gio Gonzalez (2-2, 4.01 ERA) who is 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA in eight career starts against San Diego.

Wholesale Real Madrid Jerseys

BARCELONA, Spain — A brilliant free kick by Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordán earned a 1-0 victory at Alavés and lifted his team to the top of the Spanish league on Sunday.

Jordán struck a dipping free kick over the defensive wall that goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco could only watch land in his net in the 38th minute.

The win at Alavés moved Sevilla into first place. Atlético Madrid is one point behind, followed by Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao two points back. Defending champion Barcelona and Real Sociedad are three points off the pace.

“The free kick was in a perfect spot,” Jordán said. “Being in the lead at this point is not important. It’s winning all three of our road games so far. That’s very difficult. It is thanks to the hard work of all the team.”

Sevilla didn’t threaten Alavés again and heavy rain affected the match which ended with a small scuffle that earned bookings for a pair of players on each team.

Mexico striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernández made his debut for Sevilla as a late substitute.

Jordán, who joined Sevilla from Eibar, also scored in a 1-0 win at Granada in round two.

Coach Julen Lopetegui, who was fired by both Spain’s national team and Real Madrid during a turbulent 2018, has made an impressive start in Seville. Sevilla is undefeated in four rounds after also winning at Espanyol and drawing with Celta Vigo.

Lopetegui has based his immediate success on forging a defence that has conceded one goal in four matches.

Sevilla hosts Madrid next weekend.

Joaquín Sánchez converted a late penalty in his 400th appearance for Real Betis to salvage a 1-1 draw at home with Getafe.

Betis played for more than an hour with 10 men after William Carvalho received a red card for tripping a Getafe player with only the goalkeeper to beat. It also lost Loren Morón in the final seconds to another direct red for elbowing an opponent in the head while fighting for a ball.

“It’s always important to score, especially when you are playing with a man down. I am just happy to keep helping the team,” the 38-year-old Joaquín said.

Celta Vigo played an hour of its 2-0 loss to Granada with only nine men.

Jorge Sáenz saw a direct red for a foul on Roberto Soldado in the 10th, and Fran Beltrán got a second yellow card before half an hour was up for two rash tackles.

Espanyol scored its first goals of the season and got its first win after fighting back for a 2-1 victory at Eibar.

Facundo Ferreyra and Esteban Granero scored in the final 15 minutes to pull off the comeback.

Osasuna drew 1-1 at Valladolid.

Wholesale New Orleans Saints Jerseys

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is expected to have surgery on a torn ligament in his thumb as early as Monday that would sideline him for about six weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Saints’ QB Drew Brees is expected to undergo thumb surgery as early as today that would be expected to sideline him approximately 6 weeks, per leagues sources.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 16, 2019
If the Saints decide to put Drew Brees on IR for the thumb surgery that is required, he would be unable to practice for six weeks and would to miss eight games. Saints also could not place him on IR and bring him back when ready.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 16, 2019
Schefter adds that if the Saints decide to put Brees on the injured reserve list, he would be unable to practice for six weeks and would miss eight games. The Saints could also elect to not place him on IR and allow him to return from the injury when ready.

Brees was injured in Sunday’s 27-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, leaving the game after his hand made hard contact with Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald on a follow-through. Brees indicated after the game that he was “very concerned” about the injury.

“I felt it right away. You might get jammed thumbs or fingers, different things where it swells up. This felt like it was more significant and prevented me from gripping the ball,” said Brees of the injury.

“I told him I’m hoping for the best,” Rams quarterback Jared Goff said Sunday. “He’s a great player for this league, a face of the league, and somebody we need in the league.”

Brees was 3-of-5 for 38 yards and an interception prior to his departure. Teddy Bridgewater filled in under centre for New Orleans, going 17-of-30 for 165 yards and no touchdowns. New Orleans did not score a touchdown for only the fourth time since Sean Payton became coach in 2006. It is also just the second game Brees will miss since high school, adds Schefter.

The Saints also have quarterback Taysom Hill on the roster, who has been used in different situations throughout the last two seasons but often in a rushing or receiving capacity.

The Saints (1-1) will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 next Sunday.
